West papua.

West papua is the place of dreams. This place is very much untouched and undiscovered, especially when it comes to below the surface. It has always been a dream to get in the seas around here and chase the fish that lurk below . Finally, all the planning came together and we were out there living on remote islands camping in jungles, sleeping in hammocks and spending a lot of time in the water. This place was alive under the water and above the water. The jungle held an incredible amount of noises that I will always question what was making it. Being able to interact with locals learning traditions and seeing how they live their lives was beyond humbling and incredible . Being able to make connections with these people is truly an amazing feeling and topping off with coming back to share fish for their families and the villages was a huge reward for being out there.

I have always chased my dreams and this is the definition of this in a trip. The Hunt for the dogtooth tuna has always been present in my mind and I can tell you one thing, It's no mean feat to try and find one of these Fish let alone Spear one. The time and the patient that went in to get in these Fish was beyond hard. I had to push my mind and body and I'm not going to lie the search for this Fish set you up for some pretty big lows. But not giving up will always pay off and to finally be in the water and be able to spear one was a dream come true. This one fish taught me so much and brought me on this incredible journey where i met amazing people and was immersed in the best nature this world has to offer.
